Health tech innovations which are truly changing healthcare

7 –  LUCID | Canada

This Canadian health tech company provides digital, curated music therapy to alleviate symptoms of mental health and Alzheimer’s.

Their tech, they say, was born out of necessity, after founder Aaron Labbe went through a series of mental health challenges while he was in university.

He found that there was a lack of empathy throughout the whole process of searching for support. He discovered that music helped.

He and his team turned LUCID into a digital therapeutics platform that helps address the issue of access to mental health services. They firm combines machine learning, neuroscience, and music cognition, to curate auditory therapies tailored to individual needs.

What sets LUCID apart from the competition is that its music therapy is backed by a randomised clinical trial.

In the trial, researchers found that curated playlists were 20 percent more effective at alleviating symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, and burnout — compared to relaxation playlists you’d find on a streaming service.

LUCID’s mission is to leverage advances in AI and neuroscience to unlock the full potential of music, and improve access to digital health support.

8 – GoMeyra | USA

GoMeyra is a trusted technology partner providing innovative, real-time software solutions that simplifies processes and delivers unparalleled customer service for the healthcare industry.

Created in response to the pandemic and the backlog of testing, GoMeyra is now helping hundreds of labs and practitioners in the United States and around the world process fast, accurate test results for individuals as well as enterprise-level employers, organisations, and facilities.

A very unique feature with the LIMS of the GoMeyra Network. Here labs can collaborate to efficiently manage high daily sample volumes and maximise processing capacity by coordinating overflow testing.

Additionally, having a LIMS that speaks to other labs allows smaller independent labs to take on more business, enabling them to team up and compete with larger diagnostics providers.

The founder’s collaborative nature differentiates him from other CEOs as he is often available to talk with clients about issues they need resolved or the customisation of a software program they desire.

This has worked to his advantage as he learns more about his clients than most. This unique access to information has led to upgrades in the system, new software developments, or a new system altogether.
