Health tech innovations which are truly changing healthcare

5 – Phlo Connect | Scotland

Phlo Connect are market-leading digital pharmacy infrastructure providers, supporting healthtech companies and private healthcare providers to offer a seamless, complete digital pharmacy service.

Unlike healthcare at large, processes in pharmacies, like issuing and collecting prescriptions, have changed very little over the last 300 years, left mainly untouched by digital innovation and technology.

Phlo Connect was created to help accelerate digital transformation in the pharmacy sector, inspired by the belief that healthcare and medication should be easy to access and manage for all.

Their API-driven infrastructure connects with healthcare providers to bridge the gap in innovation between pharmacies and health services. In partnership with pharmacy and healthcare providers across the country, Phlo Connect is enabling a streamlined, user-centred medication journey for both patients and prescribers.

Phlo Connect’s existing partners include the NHS, Babylon, Leva Clinic and The Dermatology Partnership.

6 – Nuheara | Australia

Nuheara is a global leader in smart hearing technology which changes people’s lives by enhancing the power to hear.

New in 2022, the US’ FDA has just passed new rules for over-the-counter hearing aids.

The HP Hearing PRO self-fitting over-the-counter hearing aids are the only product to have received FDA clearance for the OTC self-fitting classification “QUH” – under the newly enacted law 510(k) Premarket Notification (fda.gov).

This required a 510(k) clearance and a clinical study to prove their substantial equivalence and meet the OTC hearing aid law labelling and intended use guidelines.

The product, powered by Nuheara, stands alone as the only cleared OTC self-fitting hearing aid under 874.3325 QUH.

Additionally, it has just been named a CES® 2023 Innovation Awards Honoree for HP Hearing PRO self-fitting OTC hearing aids.
