Health tech innovations which are truly changing healthcare

1 – Careology | UK

This British health tech company offers a digital cancer care app for patients to be able to track symptoms, side effects and log their wellbeing while going through cancer treatment.

Their plan is to create more “up days” for everyone living and dealing with cancer – to help people with cancer and those supporting them to make the down days more manageable – and make the up days come more often.

In the last year, Careology has collaborated with key cancer sites across the UK to advance innovation in digital cancer care, build capacity, drive efficiencies and improve patient experience supporting as many patients and caregivers as possible.

They recently announced a partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the most influential cancer charities in the UK.

The partnership involves a specially built API which means that the company has the ability to show patients personalised information based on their current treatment pathway such as how to manage their specific symptoms and, when their upcoming appointments are scheduled.

With their digital solution now live in Guy’s Cancer, one of the largest cancer research sites in the UK, Careology is now able to co-develop the service with Guy’s and St Thomas and help to inform future research and development for Guy’s Cancer patients.

2 – Redi.Health | USA

Redi.Health combines health management and partnered pharmaceutical manufacturer support into one tool to deliver a truly patient-centric platform that helps people improve their adherence as well as their quality of life.

The American firm was founded with a simple goal: to empower patients to take control of and contribute to their health journey.

Redi.Health says that the patient is often forgotten and left to navigate the overwhelming world of healthcare on their own. To fix this problem they developed a company, which puts more simplified tools in the hands of patients than ever before and creates novel pathways of connectivity to the support and resources patients wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

Now in 2022, they have partnered with industry leaders, including LabCorp, GoodRx, and ScriptDrop, to empower patients to easily track their health, symptoms, and medications.

It also enables them to connect with their doctors, obtain support (including prescription cost help), and create better medication adherence – to help patients have the best quality of life. For polychronic patients, this is especially important.
